i absolutely refuse to respect the state just because it is the state. i absolutely refuse to respect institutions just because they are institutions. If i see / am shown that they do work to benefit communities who need help and support, i’ll respect them and work with them. If i see / am shown that they do work to oppress and exploit communities for the sake of their expansion and profit, i won’t just not respect them, i’ll actively work to undermine and destroy them (/their oppressive parts).
